Tim Mälzer and Jamie Oliver meet in London for a culinary TV duel that celebrates their long-standing friendship and love of food in the episode that airs on 15 June at 8.15pm on VOX. Jamie challenges Tim with the British classic Beef Wellington, a dish that brings back childhood memories for him and can only be cooked to perfection by chef Calum Franklin. As Franklin owns his restaurant in Paris, Tim cooks at Jamie's headquarters without further ado.

The challenges

Tim Mälzer in London (England): As part of the anniversary season of "Kitchen Impossible", the culinary TV duel of the year finally takes place: Tim vs Jamie! It's a journey into the past, a story about true friendship and a love of the culinary arts - all within the framework of a very special Kitchen Impossible episode. In London, Tim Mälzer meets his long-time friend and colleague Jamie Oliver in his home town. After a brief reunion, they go their separate ways and embark on their first Kitchen Impossible challenges. Jamie challenges his buddy Tim with a British classic: Beef Wellington. For the London chef, the legendary dish is a piece of his childhood, which in his eyes can only be prepared as well as he knows it from his parents by chef Calum Franklin. As Franklin, who is also known as the "Pie King", owns his restaurant in Paris, Tim cooks at Jamie's headquarters without further ado.

Jamie Oliver in London (England): While Tim Mälzer gets to grips with the craft of preparing Beef Wellington, he sends his long-time friend Jamie Oliver to the east end of London. A neighbourhood that causes Jamie a headache, as he doesn't expect to find a restaurant he knows here. In a residential neighbourhood, Jamie Oliver receives his first Kitchen Impossible box in Patricia's cramped kitchen. Known for his international "home cooking" recipes, the British celebrity chef is confronted for the first time with analysing a dish that is completely unknown to him in a private setting. The Burmese recipe from Patricia's daughter Emily Chung contains everything that makes Kitchen Impossible so special. But that's not all - just a short time later, Jamie finds himself in Emily's private home to wow a jury, for whom mohinga is her favourite dish close to home.

Tim Mälzer vs. Jamie Oliver with Gennaro Contaldo as the task setter in London (England): Tim Mälzer and Jamie Oliver are sent to the same kitchen to cook the same dish in the familiar Best Friends style. This time, the client is none other than Italian cookery legend Gennaro Contaldo - their culinary mentor. The original chef for this challenge is none other than Mario Magli, who, like Tim and Jamie, was once a student of Gennaro. In Gennaro's former restaurant "Passione", which connects them all, the production of Sardinian ravioli, known as culurgiones, was the biggest challenge. This Sardinian pasta shape is a filled pasta with a specially folded braided pattern. For Gennaro and his most famous protégés, this challenge becomes an emotional journey into their past.
