Duisburg: An extraordinary location and exceptional culinary
culinary arts form a perfect symbiosis at faktorei21 on 11 June 2025. Christian Krüger, who was awarded one star in 2014, will be hosting top chef Moses Ceylan from Zurich, who was awarded two Michelin stars in 2017. As a German with Aramaic roots, Ceylan's cooking style is unique: he playfully combines oriental classics with regional influences and garnishes them with the craftsmanship of a Michelin-starred chef. The result is unique dishes that will appeal to every gourmet, such as spiced hummus or trout Aramaic style. Both dishes will be available to try on 11 June. "As a native German who has
"As a native German who has been active in Switzerland for many years, I always look forward to engagements in my home country. And when my friend Christian Krüger calls, whom I have come to appreciate very much from our days together in Mannheim, I am of course happy to be at the start. I'm looking forward to seeing how the guests in Duisburg like my mum's cooking," says Moses Ceylan.
The location is the popular faktorei21, which is also unique. "It's important to me that everyone can try high-quality cuisine," says owner Christian Krüger. "The dishes at faktorei21 are economically well thought out and most of the vegetables come from our own farm in Kalkar. This means we can offer our guests exactly what I've always wanted: Fine dining for everyone! With the new 'Best Friend cooking format', faktorei21 is becoming a unique event location where we regularly invite top chefs from all over the world to come to Duisburg. My good friend Moses Ceylan from Switzerland will be the first!"
Beautifully located in Duisburg's inner harbour, faktorei21's proximity to the Rhine makes it a real eye-catcher that invites you to linger. With Moses Ceylan, Christian Krüger is inviting not only a valued chef colleague but also a good friend to celebrate high-end cuisine in Duisburg. In addition to a wine pairing, there will be a champagne pairing with 3 glasses for selected courses. The champagnes will be selected by the Champagne Club, who have been developing their expertise in the sparkling delicacy for over 10 years through almost monthly trips to Champagne. Founder Rafael Mittmann explains: "We scour the Champagne region from north to south and from east to west, always on the lookout for new discoveries, rarities and smaller producers that are a must-try! For me, the variety and exceptional flavours make champagne the best drink in the world."
