Summer Pop-Up
New project with Joshua Leise in Deidesheim
DEIDESHEIM Former Michelin-starred chef Joshua Leise is temporarily cooking in the Palatinate. From May to October, he and host Simi Berst are opening a new pop-up concept for gourmets at the traditional Deidesheim Castle. Head chef Joshua Leise presents sophisticated à la carte cuisine with regional roots and a modern interpretation. Joshua Leise, who achieved a star as co-head chef at Mural and the Sparkling Bistro in Munich, focuses on a product-focussed signature style. His dishes are deliberately designed to be enjoyed with wine: Clear flavours, fine textures and a focus on seasonal products characterise the menu.
The extensive wine list offers around 500 items, including over 120 selected wines from the Palatinate. In addition to classic growths from renowned estates, there are also discoveries from young winegrowers, so that the combination of kitchen and cellar offers a multi-faceted experience.
The restaurant is open on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from 4 pm and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 12 noon. Guests can choose between the sunny castle garden terrace and the historic wine bar. With the summer pop-up at Deidesheim Castle, Leise and Berst are bringing contemporary cuisine to one of the most traditional addresses in the Palatinate - a project that should appeal to gourmets and wine lovers alike.
