Restaurant review
Haebel, Hamburg
"The menu with fish and meat costs 169 euros. This makes Haebel significantly more expensive than Zeik and slightly cheaper than Jellyfish. However, I would put it in third place compared to the two restaurants. I would like to emphasise the wine pairing, which alternated between classic and out-of-the-box thinking and was really fun. At 99 euros, it was also fairly priced. However, every element of the menu really did have an alcoholic accompaniment. As the courses weren't that generous, I had the feeling that I had consumed quite a lot of alcohol after the meal. In my opinion, the star rating hurdle has been cleared. Compositionally harmonious dishes - thanks to delicious, well-made sauces. But in my opinion, a better balance between the main product and the sauce would do the dishes good and make them appear more multi-faceted. So for me, it's an alternative among Hamburg's one-star restaurants, but not a favourite." (Published in January 2025)
