Restaurant review
Tim Raue, Berlin
"You've already heard and read a lot about Tim Raue and his own style. I was correspondingly excited before my first visit to his restaurant. Ultimately, I can only confirm that Mr Raue really does have his own signature style, which can probably be described as a crossover between German and French cuisine and the world of Chinese and Thai flavours. How far the knob is turned in one direction or the other varies from course to course, which prevents it from becoming too bold. Even apart from the individual style, the food was consistently of a very high standard and had only a few weaknesses. The service left me somewhat more ambivalent. Tim Raue's restaurant is now one of the top 20 in Germany. And when you dine in a restaurant in this category, you expect a consistently special experience. While this was also the case on the plates, the service seemed very routine, to put it positively. I can't remember how many service staff I was served by over the course of the evening, but they almost always seemed to be rushing through their programme." (Published in January 2025)
