The Fontenay opens Osteria Due

HAMBURG On 2 April 2025, the luxury hotel The Fontenay opened another restaurant: "Osteria due", an uncomplicated Italian restaurant with an authentically stylish atmosphere, has opened in the immediate vicinity of the hotel at Badestraße 10. The well-established management duo is well known in Hamburg and is bringing back its culinary signature: Francesco Delvecchio, who ran the popular "Osteria Due" in almost the same location for many years together with chef Jochen Kempf, will be the host.

"We are delighted to be able to add another flagship restaurant to The Fontenay's already great gastronomic diversity and thus revive the Osteria Due, which is highly regarded beyond Hamburg, with new accents. We want to establish a new meeting place here for neighbours, hotel guests, Italy lovers, families, business diners and Alster strollers," says Managing Director Thies Sponholz.

Italian classics interpreted in a contemporary way

Ostria guests can expect Italian cuisine that brings back memories and new, surprising creations. Popular Osteria classics such as carpaccio cipriani, spaghetti with gamberetti, homemade veal ravioli or grilled calamaretti are complemented by a seasonal menu of the day.

The Osteria due impresses with a design concept that elegantly combines several styles: a flowing design language, bright colours and different material textures pay homage to Italian joie de vivre.

The restaurant area, openly designed as a "piazza" with its mosaic floor, forms the lively centrepiece with 40 seats. The adjoining wood-panelled "Alimentari" with its floor-to-ceiling wine racks invites guests to enjoy private dining and wine tastings at the chef's table. The wines curated by Master Sommelier Stefanie Hehn can also be taken home.

Large window fronts, where guests can also dine at high tables, provide a view of the terrace with seating for 50. The "Terrazza" is a particularly atmospheric place to enjoy a warm Hamburg evening aperitivo with friends. Interior designer Ilona Braun from BRAUNundBRAUN is responsible for the design reference to The Fontenay and once again demonstrates a sure sense of style in the Osteria due.
