Christian Pufahl has moved to Rocaille
DÜSSELDORF. Just before ProWein, there is news from the "Best Wine Bar in Germany", Rocaille in Düsseldorf: Christian Pufahl, 33, will be Service Manager and Head Sommelier at the popular bistro from 1 February 2025. "After around nine years in Michelin-starred gastronomy, it was time to take the next step. At Rocaille, I can not only delight guests with the 2,400-strong wine bible, but also expand it further. Furthermore, after many years of Michelin-starred gastronomy, I am very excited to combine it with the relaxed atmosphere of Germany's leading wine bistro," says Christian Pufahl.
The multi-award-winning restaurant with wine bar and patisserie Rocaille is focusing on a major service offensive and personalising it with a well-known name. Michael Spreckelmeyer, founder and Managing Director of Rocaille, comments: "Christian Pufahl is the key difference-maker in our service team. While our kitchen and patisserie team has formed a close-knit unit at a high level for almost nine years without a change, we want to take guest service to the next level and show how important it is to us."
Christian Pufahl brings with him a wealth of experience in Michelin-starred gastronomy (most recently at the 1-star restaurant Hofstube Deimann) and is also a dedicated sommelier who is highly motivated to optimise the Rocaille wine list in terms of quantity, quality and vintage depth.
