Hamburg, February 2025: Five years, two stars, 140 dishes, countless moments of pleasure - chef Julian Stowasser is celebrating his anniversary at the gourmet restaurant "Lakeside" in the luxury hotel The Fontenay. His path to success is impressive: he was awarded a Michelin star in 2021, followed by a second star in 2023 - a well-deserved crowning glory for his distinctive, flavourful and bold style of cuisine that knows no geographical boundaries. Together with his team, the Freising-born chef has arrived on the seventh floor of The Fontenay with a sweeping view over the Hanseatic city, delighting both Hamburgers and hotel guests alike.

To mark the anniversary, guests can experience a very special menu that captures the essence of Julian Stowasser's unique signature style:

Team performance at Lakeside

The high-calibre cuisine at Lakeside is complemented by first-class service: restaurant manager Michel Buder and his team celebrate warm hospitality at the highest level. Head sommelier Stefanie Hehn, one of only 32 female master sommeliers in the world, uses her expertise to provide the perfect wine pairing - charming, competent and entertaining. And when it comes to spectacular desserts, head patissier Marco D'Andrea proves his creativity.

Julian Stowasser - a master of his trade

Julian Stowasser's career is a journey through the world's most renowned kitchens. His stops: the legendary "Bareiss" in Baiersbronn, Vienna's "Steirereck" and "Tetsuya's" in Sydney. He excelled as Chef de Partie at the "Aqua" in the Ritz-Carlton Wolfsburg from 2012 to 2014, before becoming part of the three-star team as Sous-Chef at the "Atelier" in Munich from 2014 to 2018.
