SCHLUCHSEE After extensive renovation, the traditional Hotel Auerhahn reopened its doors on 14 February 2025 and invites guests to enjoy an exceptional stay in the heart of the Upper Black Forest. With a stylish ambience, the highest level of comfort and a focus on excellent cuisine, the hotel will be a focal point for those seeking relaxation and connoisseurs.

At the same time, it plays a central role in the further development of the Schluchsee as an exclusive destination. The Hotel Auerhahn has been firmly linked to the Tröndle family since 1774 and can look back on a history of over 400 years. After years of being leased out, the hotel is now returning to family management and combines deep-rooted tradition with a modern vision. As host, Marius Tröndle not only runs the Hotel Auerhahn, but also the Boutique Hotel Mühle in Schluchsee, whose restaurant, which has been awarded two Michelin stars, stands for outstanding cuisine and a modern interpretation of Black Forest design. The two hotels complement each other perfectly and offer guests two unique facets of luxurious indulgence.

Indulgence that connects

The opening of the Hotel Auerhahn also marks a new culinary beginning. Under the direction of kitchen director Yann Bosshammer, guests will experience a modern fusion of French classics with fine Black Forest accents. Regional ingredients meet innovative preparation techniques and merge into refined gourmet creations that not only reflect the character of the region, but also offer a completely new taste experience. This interplay of tradition and innovation runs through the entire concept of the hotel: the elegant rooms and suites, designed with high-quality materials and stylish design elements, offer a breathtaking view of Lake Schluchsee and the surrounding nature. This is complemented by the exclusive wellness area, which offers a selection of saunas, a steam bath, a pool and personalised treatments for deep relaxation.

The Black Forest as an adventure area

In addition to culinary delights and relaxation, the hotel's unique location is also an essential part of its philosophy. Lake Schluchsee, nestled in the landscape of the Upper Black Forest, offers a wide range of outdoor activities all year round. Whether hiking, cycling or water sports in summer or snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in winter - the region combines relaxation with activity and allows guests to experience the Black Forest in its original beauty. With the opening of the Hotel Auerhahn, Marius Tröndle is not only focusing on the highest quality standards, but is also contributing to the further development of the Schluchsee as a first-class destination. The combination of excellent cuisine, stylish architecture and an experience close to nature makes the Auerhahn a place where guests arrive and immediately feel welcome - in keeping with a tradition that has treated strangers like friends for centuries.
