Events in Bonn and Stuttgart: double success for a good cause

Top chefs from Jeunes Restaurateurs Deutschland (JRE) and numerous partners of the association put their culinary skills at the service of the JRE Germany Foundation on 16 February 2025 in Bonn and Stuttgart. Almost 47,000 euros were raised. The money will go to the Christoph Sonntag Foundation and the "HandWerk & HochGenuss" project at the Calvarienberg secondary school in Ahrweiler, among others.

The JRE & Friends Charity Kitchen Party in Bonn and the JRE & Friends Charity Gourmet Party in Stuttgart were resounding successes. Hundreds of guests enjoyed the culinary highlights prepared by top chefs from Jeunes Restaurateurs Germany and were extremely generous with their donations.

For the first time, the charity events took place simultaneously at two locations. In Bonn, the historic "La Redoute" was transformed into a gourmet world, while in Stuttgart the "Phoenixhalle im Römerkastell" served as the location for a high-calibre gourmet party. "We are overwhelmed by the support we have received in both cities. This shows once again how great the willingness is to do good with pleasure," said JRE Germany President Oliver Röder.

In Bonn, under the direction of host Matthias Pietsch ("Redüttchen", Bonn), top chefs such as Oliver Röder ("Burg Flamersheim", Euskirchen), Christoph Schmah ("Landhaus Halferschenke", Dieblich), Maximilian Lorenz ("restaurant maximilian lorenz", Cologne), Alexander Wulf ("TROYKA", Erkelenz), Philipp Helzle ("BollAnts Spa im Park", Bad Sobernheim) and Iris Bettinger ("Hotel Restaurant Reuter", Rheda-Wiedenbrück) delighted guests with creative dishes and raised a good 24.000 euros in donations. The highlight of the day was the ceremonial handover of the cheque to headmaster Christian Zimbelmann from the Calvarienberg secondary school. The donation of 13,000 euros will enable the school project "HandWerk & HochGenuss" to be set up, which combines sustainable agriculture with practical cookery training.

At the same time in Stuttgart, Franz Berlin ("Hotel Kronelamm", Bad Teinach-Zavelstein), Jason Grom ("Die Burg", Donaueschingen-Aasen), Nicolai P. Wiedmer ("Eckert", Grenzach-Wyhlen), Benjamin Maerz ("Hotel Rose & Maerz - das Restaurant", Bietigheim-Bissingen), Michael Oettinger ("Oettinger's Restaurant", Fellbach-Schmiden) and Markus Waibel ("fine dining RS", Salach) transformed the "Phoenixhalle" into a gourmet mecca. Half of the almost 23,000 euros raised there will go to the Christoph Sonntag Foundation, which primarily supports children and young people.

The charity events were supported by numerous partners. In Bonn, partners included the bakery "Max Kugel", "Parmigiano Reggiano", "Julius Meinl Kaffee", "Original Beans", a manufacturer of fine and sustainably produced chocolate, the delicatessen retailer "FrischeParadies", the catering wholesaler "R express", the wine merchant "Vinissimo", and the mineral water producer "Bad Camberger Taunusquelle" as well as renowned wineries such as "Meyer-Näkel" (Dernau), "Axel Bauer" (Bühl), "Prinz Salm" (Wallhausen), "Matthias Müller" (Spay), "Felix Mayer" (Grünstadt), "Geschwister Köwerich" (Köwerich) and the "Brennerei Ziegler" contributed to the culinary offering. Zwiesel Glas" also supported the event.

In Stuttgart, partners such as "Dinkelacker-Schwaben Bräu" (Stuttgart), "Manufaktur Jörg Geiger" (Schlat), "Julius Meinl Kaffee", "Sektkellerei Heinz Wagner", "Parmigiano Reggiano", "Keltenhof", "Philipps" bakery, "Deutsche See Fischmanufaktur", mineral water producer "Teinacher", "Fritz-Kola" and the distilleries "Ziegler" and "Reisetbauer" stood alongside JRE-Deutschland. The guests were also able to enjoy top wines from renowned wineries such as "Albrecht Schwegler" (Korb), "Bernhard Ellwanger" (Weinstadt), "Aldinger" (Fellbach) and "Markus Heid" (Fellbach).

"All members, partners and suppliers have put themselves at the service of the good cause and made their products available free of charge - for which they deserve a big thank you," emphasises Röder.
