Hamburg: Schuback am Park closes

Hamburg

New concept from April - manzel's "GUTEN TAG & ABEND", a modern all-day bar.

HAMBURG: After seven years, Schuback am Park on Eppendorfer Landstraße is saying goodbye in mid-March. The decision was not an easy one for owners Désirée and Jens Manzel: "Schuback am Park is our baby. But the economic challenges of recent years, rising costs and the acute staff shortage - especially in the kitchen - have prompted us to take a new direction," explains Jens Manzel.

But with the farewell also comes a new beginning: the two restaurateurs will open their new concept at the beginning of April: "manzels - GUTEN TAG & ABEND", a modern all-day bar that combines enjoyment, lightness and conviviality. "We want to create a place where you can feel good all day long - whether it's a lunchtime snack, a glass of wine in the afternoon or a cosy evening meal with friends," says Désirée Manzel, describing the idea. The new menu will include classics such as game bolognese and roulades in snack format as well as creative snacks such as veal tartare, salads or a modern interpretation of Toast Hawaii and sandwiches. Guests can particularly look forward to a traditional evening meal with fine cheese and sausage specialities as well as an extended wine selection. There will also be a delicatessen corner where selected specialities such as venison goulash in a glass and high-quality wines will be available to take home.

The new manzels - GUTEN TAG & ABEND is expected to open from April from Tuesday to Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. during the week and from early afternoon on Saturdays. The popular location with around 50 indoor seats and a spacious terrace for 70 guests will also remain open for private parties and events. Schuback am Park will remain open until mid-March - with the usual menu and a promise from Désirée Manzel: "Our new concept will also include a schnitzel day from time to time!" "We are overwhelmed by the positive feedback we have been receiving from our guests since Friday evening, which shows us that our new concept has already been very well received!" say Désirée and Jens Manzel.
