New opening

Italian cuisine without gluten and lactose

Berlin

Trattoria "Senza" opens in mid-February in the former einsunternull premises

BERLINIn February, the trattoria "Senza" will open at Hannoversche Straße 1, 10115 Berlin - the first Italian restaurant in the city to specialise entirely in gluten- and lactose-free cuisine. While many restaurants offer gluten- and lactose-free options, "Senza" focuses on traditional Italian dishes that are completely free of these ingredients.

The restaurant is being built on the premises of the former "einsunternull", a well-known fine dining restaurant. With this new opening, the location around Chausseestraße is receiving an exciting culinary development. "Senza" is aimed at people with coeliac disease and lactose intolerance, as well as health-conscious gourmets and anyone who wants to experience authentic Italian cuisine without restrictions. The restaurant offers a wide selection of dishes - from antipasti to primi and secondi to dolce. Highlights include classic pasta dishes such as the Roman trinity (carbonara, cacio e pepe and amatriciana), vegan ragù alla bolognese, homemade ravioli, cotoletta alla Milanese, saltimbocca and pulpo. Desserts such as tiramisu and the famous Caprese chocolate cake from Capri round off the menu - all gluten- and lactose-free, without compromising on flavour. The name says it all: without, but uncompromisingly Italian.

"Senza was born out of my own personal story of suffering: As someone who is gluten-sensitive and lives with lactose intolerance, I have often experienced the frustration of wanting to eat out and yet not being able to find a suitable option - even in a city like Berlin. With Senza, I don't just want to close this gap, I want to create a trattoria that offers Italian cuisine at its best: delicious, high-quality and accessible to everyone," says owner Kevin Chmill, describing his vision.
