Culinary Showroom for the Guide Michelin Austria
VIENNA - On 21 January 2025, the MICHELIN Guide will present its new restaurant selection for Austria at Hangar-7 in Salzburg. The exclusive event, to which the selected top chefs have already been invited by the MICHELIN Guide, will bring them together with national and international media representatives to honour the excellence of Austrian gastronomy. The MICHELIN Guide, recognised worldwide as the benchmark for culinary excellence, is thus returning to Austria for the first time since 2009. In the meantime, only Vienna and Salzburg were included in the City Guide.
The return of the Guide MICHELIN is derived from the national tourism strategy Plan T, in which the sustainable strengthening of the positioning of Austria as a gourmet and culinary destination is anchored. The cooperation with Guide MICHELIN is the result of collaboration between the Austrian National Tourist Office, the provincial tourism organisations and the industry representatives in the Chamber of Commerce. Just in time to showcase Austria's culinary excellence even more internationally, the Austrian National Tourist Office is presenting the new Culinary Showroom together with the provincial tourism organisations. This was developed in close co-operation with the communications agency subsidiary. The communication platform supports the targeted push of Austria's culinary diversity and the communication of the jointly developed culinary positioning with image and video material as well as stories. In future, the tourism marketers will use the claim #eatAUT as a common link for all national and international culinary initiatives.
Experience culinary delights worldwide: International initiatives of the Austrian National Tourist Board
The MICHELIN Guide Ceremony will be accompanied by a number of culinary initiatives in the international markets of Austrian National Tourist Office. From culinary events such as 4-hands dinners with Austrian guest chefs in Switzerland or participation in the Berlin Food Week to targeted media co-operations at home and abroad and thematic campaigns. A TV project in the Netherlands is also being planned. This will put Austria's culinary culture in the spotlight worldwide.
