New look for the Vitus Winkler herb kingdom

Austria

Pleasure legends as guests

ST. Exciting news from the Salzburg region: the Sonnhof by Vitus Winkler is celebrating the reopening of the gourmet restaurant "Kräuterreich by Vitus Winkler" on 12 and 13 January 2025 with big names from the gourmet scene. Guests include Bernhard Ott from Weingut Ott am Wagram and Hans Reisetbauer from the Upper Austrian quality distillery. At these exclusive events, guests can savour culinary masterpieces from the host, JRE and 4-toque chef Vitus Winkler, accompanied by selected wines and exceptional spirits.

Time never stands still in the catering industry. Especially not in Pongau with the Winkler host family. Over the past few months, not only has one of the best gourmet restaurants in the country been renovated at the Sonnhof, but the workplace of 4-toque chef Vitus Winkler and his team has also been given a new lease of life. Up to 14 people can now take a seat at the Chef's Table to experience at first hand how Vitus Winkler and his kitchen team create gourmet compositions.

Also new are the breakfast area, the fitness and seminar area and five rooms - including a suite with its own sauna, fireplace and free-standing bathtub. Reason enough to celebrate the reopening with high-calibre guests from the gourmet scene.

The celebrations will begin on Sunday evening with a six-course menu from the kitchen poet, where the refined use of herbs plays a key role in his innovative cuisine alongside the best ingredients from the region. Bernhard Ott and Hans Reisetbauer personally take care of the perfect matching of wines and spirits.

On the following Monday evening, six newly interpreted tavern classics will be served with harmonious wine and brandy pairings. You can look over the master chef's shoulder directly in the kitchen to get valuable tips for perfect preparation. A unique combination of tradition and creativity!

Sunday, 12 January 2025, from 7 to 11 pm: Everything new in the herb kingdom - price: 6-course menu incl. place setting, wine and brandy accompaniment, water and coffee for € 299 per person

Monday, 13 January 2025, from 7 pm to 11 pm: Inn classics & big bottles - price: 6 newly interpreted inn classics incl. wine and brandy accompaniment for € 198 per person
