New chef and new concept at Shiraz

Nordrhein-Westfalen

Danah Reyad wants to flavour his dishes more boldly

WUPPERTAL. The Michelin-starred restaurant Shiraz is starting the new year at a new address, with a new head chef and a new flavour profile. As reported, the previous head chef Alexander Hoppe has left the restaurant at the end of the year.

Following significant electrical damage at the previous location, Shiraz has cancelled its lease prematurely and relocated. It will open on 16 January at Einern 120 in Wuppertal. The new head chef Reyad Danah will then also be presenting his cuisine. This also means a new flavour profile. Instead of focusing primarily on Asian influences, Danah wants to explore more diverse flavours, work more with spices and boldly season his dishes. "The different cuisines from all over the world should reflect the tradition and cultural influences in the individual courses," explains owner Serkan Akgün.

Reyad Danah completed his apprenticeship at the io Seehotel Zeulenroda from 2016 to 2019 and then worked as a young chef at the Pfaffenberg restaurant in Solingen. He then gained experience in several Michelin-starred restaurants.
