Peter Maria Schnurr returns to Berlin
BERLIN Following the announcement that GOLVET head chef Jonas Zörner would be moving to the Lorenz Adlon dining room, his successor at the Michelin-starred restaurant has now been finalised: Leipzig-based two-star chef with Baden roots, Peter Maria Schnurr, is returning to Berlin and will take over the reins in the kitchen at GOLVET in Berlin-Mitte in the new year. Schnurr will start at the restaurant near Potsdamer Platz above the rooftops of Berlin on 29 January 2025, bringing his signature dish "Annika Maria" with him. The celebrity chef created this dish as a gift to his daughter for her birth - now "Annika Maria" is coming to Berlin at the same time and will be on the GOLVET menu for the first time.
The CEO of 40 SECONDS BERLIN and owner of GOLVET, Thorsten Schermall, is delighted: "With Peter Maria Schnurr, we have engaged a top chef who brings experience, cosmopolitan creativity and boundless enthusiasm for his work to this unique culinary venue, so that we can offer our guests new excellent experiences in the usual unique atmosphere at Potsdamer Platz. In Peter Maria Schnurr, we have found the kitchen personality with whom we will continue to write the GOLVET success story."
The award-winning chef, who with his "cuisine passion légère ©" style of cooking was the only chef in the new federal states to cook up and hold two Michelin stars in the Falco Leipzig restaurant for over 18 years, and who also hosted the German national football team for many years, is looking forward to his new role and his return to Berlin. Schnurr is well-known in the capital because he was able to spoil his guests here for many years with the legendary Siegfried Rockendorf, then at First Floor and the Berlin Capital Club. Schnurr is also known to a wider television audience from various television productions such as Kitchen Impossible, TOP-Chef Germany and Kühlschrank öffne Dich.
Just in time for the new year, Peter Maria Schnurr starts at GOLVET, which was able to defend its star in the Michelin Guide 2024 in May. Schnurr will continue to develop his culinary style with the GOLVET's 18-strong team and is looking forward to working with these young, creative and international experts. Thorsten Schermall is positive about his new addition: "Together with Schnurr, we will set off for new culinary shores at the end of January and present our guests with excellent flavour experiences."
