New start for Michelin-starred restaurant Anthony's Kitchen
MEERBUSCH. The Michelin-starred restaurant Anthony's Kitchen is to be financially reorganised. As the insolvency administrator, lawyer Georg F. Kreplin from the Düsseldorf law firm KKN, has announced, intensive negotiations have resulted in a rescue solution being found as part of a transferring reorganisation. This ensures the preservation and continuation of the popular restaurant, which was previously run by the operating company Anthony's GmbH.
Anthony Sarpong's philosophy remains intact
With the opening of insolvency proceedings on 2 December 2024, the starred restaurant will be continued by the newly founded Anthony's Kitchen GmbH. The new operating company will take on all employees and continue Anthony Sarpong's exclusive concept. Anthony Sarpong, founder and creative head of the starred restaurant, will also remain with the gourmet restaurant as an employed chef. He will continue to lead his culinary philosophy, which creatively combines African, European and Asian influences, under the new operating company.
Sustainable business model
"My team and I are very pleased. We are relieved and happy that we can now get off to a new start. We would like to thank everyone involved for their help and constructive support during this difficult phase and for making the new start possible," says Anthony Sarpong. Insolvency administrator Georg F. Kreplin had previously stabilised business operations and continued to run the restaurant without restrictions since the insolvency application. "I see outstanding cuisine at the highest level, a very committed kitchen team, satisfied returning guests and a sustainable business model with Anthony Sarpong as a brand that is recognised far beyond the region, so I am convinced that the business will continue," says the insolvency administrator.
Support from returning guests
"I have learnt my lessons from the past and understood that I need to focus on my most important work. From now on, I will focus intensively on Anthony's Kitchen. It is the origin of my professional development, my home and the soul of my work," says Michelin-starred chef Anthony Sarpong. Anthony Sarpong has given up his other commitments in order to devote himself fully to Anthony's Kitchen.
"We are particularly grateful to all the guests who have come in such large numbers in the last two months as a clear sign of support. This has given us the courage and strength to carry on with joy and confidence," says Sarpong.
In the new start, Anthony Sarpong can rely on his experienced kitchen team, who will continue to create exceptional culinary menus for the guests with passion and fun. Anthony's Kitchen will also continue to offer exclusive cookery courses and culinary events. The same applies to the online shop, which offers in-house products such as exquisite olive oils, wines and cookery menus. "We are very pleased that Anthony's Kitchen will remain in Meerbusch and now has the best conditions for stable development again. We have achieved a good reorganisation solution and Anthony Sarpong will continue to impress gourmet lovers with his culinary signature," says insolvency administrator Georg F. Kreplin.
