Boris Rommel publishes new cookery book
ZWEIFLINGEN.
Two-star chef Boris Rommel presents his new cookbook "Zeit zu kochen" (Time to cook) just in time for autumn and winter. The new work by the kitchen director at the Wald & Schlosshotel Friedrichsruhe is a culinary guide with inspiration for spoiling family and friends with new flavour experiences. The preparation of the 48 dishes ranges from simple to sophisticated and incorporates all of Rommel's skill and passion for his craft. Both can be experienced step by step when cooking the recipes yourself. When creating "Time to Cook", the Chef of the Year 2022 was passionate about the communal experience: "My personal wish is to pass on my love of the craft to everyone who shares my passion and appreciates the large dining table at home as much as my family and I do." At just 40 years old, Rommel is already one of the top international chefs, yet he has remained down-to-earth, as demonstrated by his well thought-out recipes, which range from refined to rustic, such as delicious stews for four seasons.
International, classically French and hearty, the selection of starters starts with grilled pulpo, Friedrichsruher Stulle or tomato and sheep's cheese tart. The diversity of Rommel's culinary repertoire unfolds impressively with main courses such as wild garlic risotto, eel carbonara, fire-grilled kebabs, Sunday schnitzel or beef fillet Wellington. A menu for enjoying together can then be rounded off with a Gugelhupf parfait, strawberry tiramisu or beautiful oven bakes. In addition, vegetarian recipes also offer delicious flavours free from animal ingredients. A separate chapter on the subject of preserving jars provides many, especially now in autumn.
Boris Rommel's new cookbook "Time to Cook" features special sharing recipes for dishes that are served in pots and platters for friends and family to help themselves to, just like in the old days. "We should consciously enjoy food and spend time with the people we're sitting at the table with," says Rommel. "'Time to cook' opens up numerous opportunities to prepare a wonderful evening for yourself and others."
