Schauenstein remains number 1
Schauenstein remains the best restaurant in Switzerland in the updated 2024 restaurant rankings, according to an analysis of the latest scores from the most important restaurant guides. Andreas Caminada 's restaurant has led the rankings since 2013. Sven Wassmer Memories in Bad Ragaz, which was in fifth place last year, has moved up to second place, while the two restaurants that were in joint second place last year, Cheval Blanc by Peter Knogl in Basel and Restaurant de l'Hôtel de Ville in Crissier, are now in third place.
Two restaurants have moved up into the top 10. In ninth place is Ecco in St. Moritz, which will soon be undergoing a change of chef. Last year, it was still in twelfth place. The Magdalena in Schwyz improves from 21st to tenth place, completing the top 10.
The best newcomer to the ranking is The Counter restaurant in Zurich, which achieved 34th place straight away. The newcomer of the year is Giles Varone in Savièse, which improved from 532nd to 45th place.
