New head chef at Schlosshotel Kronberg

Hessen

Gil Heinzelmann takes over responsibility for the entire catering offer

KRONBERG. Handover at Schlosshotel Kronberg: Gil Heinzelmann, one of the most renowned culinary addresses in the Taunus region, has had a new head chef since the beginning of October. The 40-year-old previously worked as Executive Sous Chef at the five-star hotel and is now responsible for the hotel's entire gastronomic offering. In addition to the à la carte business in two restaurants, this also includes private functions, seasonal events and the operation of the Winter Cottage during the cold season.

Gil Heinzelmann lived in Greece for several years as a teenager due to his parents' job and has been working in the catering industry for 17 years. After training as a chef and then working as Demichef de Cuisine at the Resort Sonnenalp in Ofterschwang, he moved to the Grandhotel Hessischer Hof in Frankfurt in 2013, where he rose to Junior Sous Chef. From 2017, he also held this position at the Kempinski Falkenstein Grand in Königsstein for two years before moving to the Schlosshotel Kronberg in 2019. Here he was able to gain extensive work experience, first as Sous Chef and later as Executive Sous Chef, which will now stand him in good stead as the new Head Chef. The trained chef attaches great importance to working with his colleagues and trainees in the team and is looking forward to realising future ideas and creations together.

"Mr Heinzelmann knows the processes in the Schlosshotel's kitchen like no other and was our absolute dream solution for the vacant position of new head chef," explains Dominik Ritz, General Manager of the hotel. "He is very hard-working, highly team-orientated and exceptionally competent in his field - all qualities that are invaluable when it comes to taking responsibility for our hotel's entire gastronomic offering."

When it comes to gastronomy, the Schlosshotel Kronberg is extremely diverse: in two restaurants, the Schlossrestaurant Victoria and the Enrico d'Assia, guests can experience flights of fancy in a stylish atmosphere. The castle also serves as a stage for private events such as family celebrations, weddings and exclusive board meetings - excellent catering is always included. The many seasonal special events such as the kitchen party in the castle and the game weekend in autumn as well as various Christmas offers such as the Christmas Eve dinner and the Christmas brunches during the festive season are popular with guests and locals alike. There are also traditional events such as the English Afternoon Tea, where classic English delicacies are served alongside exquisite teas. Another highlight is the rustic Winter Cottage, where delicious fondues are served in a cosy atmosphere from the end of November. Designed in the style of a traditional mountain hut, the location is also perfect for private parties and corporate events.
