BERLIN The new head chef at MACIONGA Restaurant & Wine Bar is Christopher Wecker, a long-time companion of patron André Macionga. The two worked closely together at Tim Raue's restaurant from 2012 to 2019, and their friendly collaboration continued when Christopher Wecker took over as head chef at Günther Jauch's newly opened Potsdam restaurant Villa Kellermann in 2019 and André Macionga and his Berlin wine company AMC supplied the restaurant with exclusive fillings.

AMC is called André Macionga Cuvée. André Macionga works with top winemakers such as Horst Sauer, Markus Schneider, Rainer Schnaitmann, Reinhard and Sarah Löwenstein etc. to create wines for his AMC collection. Following the departure of Tim Raue as a cooperation partner of Günther Jauch at Villa Kellermann in 2023, Christopher Wecker remained head chef and made a name for himself with his concept of revitalising classic German cuisine through aromatic refinement and noblesse oblige. Until the restaurant was closed in June 2024.

Now, Christopher Wecker has found a new professional venue that brings him back together with André Macionga. André Macionga "We want to creatively advance the MACIONGA Restaurant & Wine Bar with Christopher Wecker. Emotional wines call for emotional dishes. And the increasing success of our high-calibre wine events, which are accompanied by exciting dishes, is also spurring us on to new ideas. I am delighted to have the support of my friend Christopher." And Christopher Wecker adds: "This is where people who belong together come together. Discussing flavours with André Macionga and then implementing the results in the kitchen is like doing gymnastics on the culinary high bar. Together we will create exciting experiences for our guests with glass and fork. It's great to see how our two careers find their way back onto the same road."
