Restaurant review

ITO, Cologne

Köln, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Forum

"I personally find the combination of European and Japanese elements, which characterise the menu and in which the kitchen can fully demonstrate its craftsmanship and creativity, particularly appealing."

Restaurant ITO, Cologne

"Of course you can also eat classic sushi, tempura and sashimi at "ITO". At much higher prices than in normal Japanese restaurants, but certainly at a quality that justifies it, if you look at the nigiri alone, which were part of this menu. Personally, however, I find the combination of European and Japanese elements that characterise the menu particularly appealing and in which the kitchen can fully demonstrate its craftsmanship and creativity. The menu today was once again at a level that would merit a Michelin star. As with all the restaurants in the Hesseler Group, the wine list is excellently stocked and fairly priced. The service is attentive and friendly, but remains rather formal. If there had only been two of us, this might have affected the atmosphere a little. But it was just right for our somewhat larger group. And they were very impressed throughout the evening." (Published in August 2024)
