Star chef now works in Austria

MUNICH. The previous head chef of the Mural, Joshua Leise, has left the Bavarian capital. According to a report in the Süddeutsche Zeitung, he moved to Austria in August. From the start of the winter season, he will be working at the Hotel Mondschein in Stuben am Arlberg. There, a chef's table with eight seats will offer a gourmet menu inspired by the Alps with a direct view into the kitchen.

Born in 1995, Joshua Leise completed his training from 2014 at Söl'ring Hof with Johannes King and Jan-Philipp Berner on Sylt In September 2017, he joined Jan Hartwig at the Atelier restaurant in Munich. In 2018, at the age of 23, Joshua Leise became head chef at the Mural restaurant in Munich. In 2020, Mural and the joint management of him and Johannes Maria Kneip were awarded a Michelin star. He received the Young Talent award from Gault&Millau and the Young Chef Award from the Michelin Guide.

As the SZ writes, his successor will be announced in the coming weeks.
