New head chef at the VINOTHEK by Geisel
MUNICH: Benedikt Arps is the new head chef at the VINOTHEK by Geisel in Munich. The top chef has taken over the position at the first-class hotel EXCELSIOR with its associated wine restaurant VINOTHEK on 1 June 2024.The Geisel Privathotels have announced that Thomas Kahl has left the company to pursue new opportunities. "We would like to thank Thomas Kahl for his commitment and dedication and wish him all the best for the future," said the Geisel family.
"Honest, clear and authentic cuisine. The essential thing is the product, it takes centre stage and shines through its excellent quality," is how the new head chef at the Vinothek describes his style of cooking. Benedikt Arps completed his apprenticeship as a chef at the Ambassador Hotel & Spa in Stankt Peter-Ording. After completing his apprenticeship, he moved further north to Sylt in North Friesland. First for two years at the AROSA Resort and then for a further five years at the renowned Söl`ring Hof. Born in Schleswig-Holstein, he most recently held the position of head chef at the 2-star restaurant, which has been recognised in the Michelin Guide. "I'm really looking forward to the new challenge and would like to offer our guests a wonderful culinary time in our vinotheque. Here, regional Mediterranean lightness meets carefully selected seasonal ingredients from regional suppliers. Our cuisine is characterised by freshness and an ethereal herbal note.
