The Berlin restaurant Rutz continues to lead the restaurant rankings for Germany in September. The three-star restaurant has an unchanged 139.8 points, 0.2 points more than the Schwarzwaldstube in Baiersbronn, which follows in second place as in the previous month. The two had been tied at the top of the ranking since January 2024. In July 2024, the Rutz then took over the sole top position, with the Sonnora in Dreis and the Aqua in Wolfsburg following in third place with a gap of seven tenths. The update primarily takes into account new ratings that were recorded in August.

In addition, the "Opinionated about Dining" (OAD) rankings are included in the ranking for Germany for the first time. The reason for this is that the OAD rankings have been treated like a professional guide since the publication of our 2024 World Ranking. As a result, there are two changes in the top 10 of the Germany ranking compared to August. Victor's Fine Dining by Christian Bau in Perl-Nennig has reduced the gap to third place, but remains in fifth place. JAN in Munich retains sixth place. However, thanks to its good position in the OAD ranking, it gained points and now has more points than the Schanz in Piesport. Both restaurants were still equal on points at the beginning of August, which is why Thomas Schanzn un is in seventh place. The Bareiss in Baiersbronn is still in eighth place. The Vendôme in Bergisch Gladbach overtakes The Table and is now in ninth place, while Kevin Fehling's restaurant is in tenth place.

ES:SENZ in Grassau received the highest rating in the Schlemmer Atlas in August. As a result, the restaurant with chef Edip Sigl improved to 18th place. This is only the second month in a row that the restaurant has achieved a new record, and it is also one of the 20 best restaurants in the ranking for the first time. At the beginning of August, it was still in 24th place. As a result, the restaurants Steinheuers, Ophelia, Tohru in der Schreiberei, Gorumerestaurant Dichter, Lafleur and Meierei Dirk Luther each lost one place. In addition, Alois in Munich improved from 29th to 27th place.

In the top 50, OPUS V in Mannheim climbed two places to 29th place, making it one of the 30 best restaurants again for the first time since the change of chef from Tristan Brandt to Dominik Paul. Louis in Saarlouis also climbed to 39th place, achieving a new record.

Ernst in Berlin returns to the top 100 thanks to the inclusion of the OAD rating. It had slipped to 376th place in the rankings in recent months. As the closure of the restaurant has been announced for the end of the year, guides had already stopped re-evaluating it. In 80th place, Tulus Lotrek in Berlin has not only improved by three places compared to August, it is also better placed than it has ever been since it was established.

In the top 200, the restaurants Marburger Esszimer in Marburg (from 120th to 101st place), Oben in Heidelberg (from 136th to 111th place), Eichhalde in Freiburg (from 143rd to 123rd place), Gourmetrestaurant PUR in Berchtesgaden (from 160th to 144th place), Haebel in Hambug (from 181st to 155th place) and Esszimmer in Schwendi (from 197th to 173rd place) also achieved new top rankings.

Details on the calculation method and how many ranking points the restaurant guides' assessments result in can be found here.

A total of 4,626 restaurants are currently listed in the ranking, which is three fewer than in August. Compared to the beginning of July, 84 restaurants received a higher score or were newly included in the ranking. The New Josch restaurant in Stuttgart collects the most points in one month. 27 restaurants received fewer points than at the beginning of August. Inclusion in the ranking list is automatic and free of charge as soon as a restaurant is rated in one of the popular restaurant guides and achieves at least 30 ranking list points.

KOMU in Munich is the restaurant that has gained the most points compared to the September 2023 ranking, followed by Petit Amour in Hamburg and YOSO in Andernach.
