Bistrot L'Îlot, Antwerp

"The cuisine at "Bistrot L'îlot" doesn't follow any rigid rules. It seems to me that the menu here is determined by the pleasure principle. You try out and combine what might be harmonious and do so in a well-considered way. The dishes are designed in such a way that they are easy to manage even with very few staff. Then, as on our evening, you can serve a group of 10 ladies at the same time as the normal tables. Sander De Saegher tells us that the restaurant has been around for seven years. Not far away, they also run a catering business. It's the kind of catering that even renowned colleagues like to visit on their days off. The wine list and fabulous value for money do the rest. If we lived in Antwerp, there's a good chance we'd find ourselves here more often." (Published in August 2024)
