Vegan curry sausage brand from Daniel Gottschlich

Köln, Nordrhein-Westfalen

Cologne two-star chef launches his offer on NRW Day

COLOGNE: Daniel Gottschlich, the two Michelin-starred chef and creative mind behind Cologne's top restaurant Ox&Klee, is now taking his passion for flavour to the streets. With the "Krassen Curry Vurst" (Vurst = vegan curry sausage), Gottschlich presents a vegan curry sausage that combines tradition and innovation in a delicious way. The new brand focuses on handmade sauces, healthy ingredients and a rebellious, punky design - street food in a class of its own, developed by one of Germany's most renowned chefs.

Known for his "Experience Taste" concept, which celebrates flavour experiences at the highest level, Daniel Gottschlich is now making his expertise accessible to everyone with the "Krassen Curry Vurst". Inspired by an unforgettable moment with culinary icon Anthony Bourdain, Gottschlich is pursuing the goal of redefining the world of currywurst - this time vegan, healthy and without compromising on flavour.

"Eating currywurst with Anthony Bourdain after filming 'Parts Unknown' was a key moment for me. It showed me how much culture and history there can be in such a simple dish," says Daniel Gottschlich. "The idea of developing my own currywurst brand has been growing in me ever since. And as I have placed more and more emphasis on healthy, conscious eating in recent years, it was clear to me that this currywurst had to be vegan - just as delicious, but without a guilty conscience."

The "Krasse Curry Vurst" trolley will celebrate its debut at NRW-Tag next weekend and will be positioned in front of the Ox&Klee restaurant in Rheinauhafen harbour. The trolley will also be open regularly after NRW-Tag: Wednesdays to Sundays from 12 noon to 4 pm. The team reserves the right to communicate any additional spontaneous openings, e.g. due to weather changes etc., via social media. Follow the Vurst ;-) The trolley can also be booked for events - for both B2B and B2C events.

The "Krasse Curry Vurst" is accompanied by four handmade sauces - each one a unique flavour experience ranging from mild to hot. Both the Vurst and the sauces were developed in close partnership with the regional company Remagen from Hürth to guarantee the highest quality and authenticity. A portion of Curry Vurst with all four sauces, fries, vegan mayo and a drink will cost around 10 euros.
