Tristan Brandt regrets the cancellation of Epoca in Zurich
ZURICH. As reported, the Epoca on the Sonnenberg in Zurich is to close. The restaurant was under the patronage of Tristan Brandt, who regretted the investors' decision in a statement, especially for the chef, Niklas Oberhofer. The decision "was not an easy one for anyone involved. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my up-and-coming talent and head chef Niklas Oberhofer for his outstanding work. Within a very short space of time, we have managed to transform the 'Sonnenberg' restaurant and the former club venue into a culinary oasis and offer dishes and menus of the highest standard. Niklas Oberhofer gave his all to make the concept a success. In addition to the menus, he developed an EAT ART concept together with artists from Zurich and Switzerland, which was reflected both in the restaurant and on his plates. Working closely with me, he not only ensured outstanding quality, he and his team managed to attract new Swiss and international guests as well as exclusive partners to Sonnenberg and generated extremely positive media attention."
Tristan Brandt continues: "For me, Niklas Oberhofer is and remains an exceptional talent that I will continue to support and accompany. I am very sure that he will make a career for himself in high-end gourmet cuisine in the coming years. He is ambitious, determined, works hard on himself and is passionate about delivering the best culinary experience to his guests and customers. I am very proud to have him on board as part of my talent pool. We are all striving for the best possible outcome to the project and I am sure that we will find a new path for the epoca team. Because only change can endure - off to new shores!"
