Restaurant review
Mural Farmhouse, Munich
Restaurant Mural Farmhouse, Munich
"The Mural Farmhouse offers a vegetable-orientated cuisine that achieves a remarkable quality in terms of texture and flavour in most courses. The best courses are skilfully composed without being over-constructed - but there is potential for optimisation here and there in the details. Despite the focus on regionality, the cuisine doesn't seem too strict or ascetic to me; the trout and lamb in particular provide a nice culinary highlight with their classic basic character, while the salad and tomato course are more likely to tantalise and appeal to my culinary mind. Compared to the city centre mural, I would describe the cuisine as somewhat bolder and edgier - which is especially true of the vegetarian dishes. In terms of quality, however, both are pretty much on a par. The wine pairing also impressed me throughout. Given the price, you get good wines that were all harmoniously paired with the dishes and represent a nice mix of classics and lesser-known favourites." (Published in May 2024)
