Wine event: A tour along the Donau
Event category is: Hessen
Event takes place at: Eltville-Hattenheim
With a length of 2,857 kilometres, the Donau is the second longest river in Europe after the Volga. Viticulture has a two-thousand-year (cultural) history along the Donau Valley. The legendary Donau - like all bodies of water - has a positive effect on viticulture and creates the conditions for it through terraced valley slopes. Today we are focussing on the Austrian wine-growing regions along the Danube: Wachau, Weinviertel, Kamptal, Wagram, Vienna and Carnuntum with wines from the following wineries: Emmerich Knoll / Wachau, Rudi Pichler / Wachau, Ebner-Ebenauer / Weinviertel, Schloss Gobelsburg / Kamptal, Weingut Ott / Wagram, Wieninger / Wien, Weingut Wellanschitz / Carnuntum, Weingut Markowitsch / Carnuntum. There will also be classics of Austrian cuisine, finely tuned to the menu.
Moderation: Ingo Swoboda, author, journalist & critic
Inclusive price for aperitif, 4-course menu and all wines, mineral water and café: €175.00
restaurant review
The Caper, Vulcano
"Similar to the previous evening, the dishes are very purist and minimalist or product-oriented, which makes sense given that mainly local products are used."
