For the first time ever members of the Restaurant Rankings Gourmet Club have elected a menu of the year. They chose from a list of 75 courses and 11 accompanying wines from the Menus of the Month throughout 2013. Roughly 75% of our members participated in the election. Using their final choices we have put together an eight-course menu.
In particular the following found special support amongst the voters: Johannes King
from Söl’ring Hof auf Sylt and his team, Andreas Caminada
from Schloss Schauenstein in Fürstenau and his team, Christian Jürgens
from Übefahrt in Rottach-Egern.and his team. Each of these teams provide two courses for the menu. From Christian Jürgens, only recently awarded his third Michelin star, comes the course with the highest marks: namely the main course from the October menu named after the TV series 'Bulle von Tölz' <Policeman from Tölz. The main character is played by a somewhat large, bull-like actor.> dIn addition courses originate from Andreas Krolik
from Tigerpalast-Restaurant in Frankfurt/ Main and from Sebastian Zier
along with patissier Christian Hümbs
from La Mer im A-Rosa Sylt. Of the sommeliers David Eitel
from La belle Epoque in Travemünde lead the field.
