Restaurant of the Year: bean & beluga, Dresden
Chef of the Year: Johannes King, Söl'ring Hof, Sylt
The editorial team at "Feimschmecker" have declared Stefan Hermann’s bean & beluga in Dresden “Restaurant of the Year 2013” along with Johannes King in Söl’ring Hof on Sylt as “Chef of the Year 2013”.
They described Hermann in Dresden, in a region going through economical difficulties and hardly renowned for its interesting cuisine, as being exemplary in the way that he continues to follow his determination to produce gourmet cuisine and thereby successfully providing a path for others to follow down.
As to King, they described him as the very epitomy of the ‘regional chef’ whereby he continues to draw the borders round his sphere of purchase ever tighter. It is his ability to produce exciting top quality cooking using ultra-fresh ingredients in a cool region often swept by wind and rain.
