Grand Hotel Heiligendamm under new ownership

Paul Morzynski plans to keep the current business concept

Heiligendamm. The Grand Hotel Heiligendamm has a new owner. At the end of May 2013, the signed contract of purchase with a group of Berlin investors became invalid when the agreed price was not paid. Paul Morzynski, a financial auditor from Hannover, takes over the long-standing building on the Baltic Sea as from 1st August. Paul Morzynski plans to continue running the luxury hotel along the present lines. This means, amongst other things, that the current management will remain responsible. A name change is also not planned. All jobs in the Grand Hotel Heiligendamm remain secure. The hotel will continue to be open throughout the year, whereby this also applies to the gourmet restaurant Friedrich Franz. “Our top chef Ronny Siewert will be staying with us for a long time to come, after all he and Friedrich Franz will continue to be the figurehead of the Grand Hotel“, hotel spokesperson Dorit Wehmeyer answered when put the question.   When asked about the possible sale of some of the buildings of the hotel complex managing director Patrick G. Weber replied that “we want to retain the wonderful historical ensemble. A sale of individual buildings is not planned.”  In fact extensive refurbishment is scheduled.
